The area
Clanwilliam and the Cederberg
The house looks out over the Clanwilliam Dam, with the Cederberg behind it — rooibos country, rock art, and one of the great wild flower shows in the Western Cape.
The Clanwilliam Dam
The house looks out over the dam, so the water is the whole point — swimming, boating, fishing and long evenings watching the light change over the Cederberg.
Cederberg Wilderness Area
Rugged sandstone country with hiking trails, rock formations and the famous Cederberg climbing. A day trip that people come back for year after year.
Wild flowers in spring
From roughly August into September the Cederberg and Namaqualand flower season turns the surrounding veld into one of the great spectacles of the Western Cape.
Rooibos country
Clanwilliam is the heart of rooibos tea farming — the only place in the world it grows wild. Farm visits and tastings are a short drive from town.
Rock art & the Pakhuis Pass
The area holds some of the richest San rock art in the region, including the well-known Sevilla trail, reached over the dramatic Pakhuis Pass.
Ramskop Nature Reserve
Right in Clanwilliam, Ramskop is known for its wild flower garden and dam views — an easy outing when you want something gentle.
